I was teaching a photography workshop in the Lake George, NY, area in late September, 2009 and since we didn’t meet mornings until 9, I had the early morning light to shoot by. Since I am not a traditional landscape photographer, I had nothing in particular mind when I came to the area. Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd happened to be the last day of Summer and the first day of Fall. Actually I had already taken a few deserted motel swimming pools when I realized the significance of the date. I loved the look of the empty/abandoned/closed pools in the early overcast light. I simply decided to shoot whatever I could on those two mornings and be done with it.
